Learn legal and eDiscovery project management techniques and organize your projects according to consistent, repeatable, and measurable practices. You will be introduced to legal and eDiscovery project management best practices, documentation and methodologies, budgets and quality controls and communication best practices.

 

Goals and Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

 What You Will Learn

 This  session provides a high-level overview of the legal, litigation and eDiscovery fields. It explores key terms used so students have an opportunity to increase their overall knowledge and core competencies prior to focusing on the components of an individual project. These sessions will ensure that students have a solid understanding of the overall legal industry and EDRM model before moving into detailed discussions about legal and eDiscovery projects.

 

Components of a Legal and eDiscovery Project

 You will take an in-depth look at the structure and workflow of a project throughout every phase of eDiscovery. Discussions will include practical examples and case studies to learn how key components of a project must be integrated in order to achieve success from both a workflow and cost perspective.

 

Project Scoping: Cost and Budget Considerations

 Your instructor will take you through an in-depth look at the items and costs associated to an eDiscovery project. Detailed service offerings for every phase of the eDiscovery process and real world examples of project requirements, pricing estimates, budget metrics and tracking logs will be given.

 

Project Management Documentation: Tracking a Project from Beginning to End

You will take an in-depth look at various types of project management documentation created and implemented for legal and eDiscovery projects. Real world templates will be provided.

Meet Your Speaker: Maureen Holland

Maureen Holland is an Adjunct Professor in eDiscovery and Legal Project Management at University of California San Diego Extension and Litigation Support and eDiscovery Specialist at D4 where she handles large, complex cases for AmLaw 200 and Fortune 1000 in-house legal departments. Prior to D4, Maureen worked as a Litigation Support Project Manager for major firms such as Davis, Polk &  Wardell and WilmerHale. She has published many articles and is a well-known national seminar leader.
